Education:

  • To establish an effective Coach Mentoring Scheme (linking in with FDSW initially but moving towards working with experienced National and/or International coaches/mentors
  • To ensure that Levels 1, 2 and 3 of the UKCC or GB accredited/endorsed coaching programme is inclusive and that there is opportunity for higher level coaches to do additional qualifications and/or CPD that is impairment/classification specific
  • To train and qualify appropriate Tutors to deliver Disability Inclusion Training to Welsh GB staff, coaches, volunteers, officials and clubs (done in conjunction with FDSW)


Programme Support:

  • To have in post a Technical Lead (e.g. Head Coach) appointed specifically for the enhancement of disabled performers
  • Evidence of Welsh GB clubs achieving appropriate club accreditation standards (this should be linked in with insport Club)
  • To establish a proactive performance development system, where Talent Identificatrion and Talent Transfer for disabled participants is clearly articulated
  • To identify and champion bespoke support packages for all pathway athletes within the governing body
  • To ensure that appropriate disability sport-lead SSSM services are embedded into the Welsh GB delivery system


Organisation:

  • Welsh Governing Body Board to proactively lead on elements of programme planning (responsibility for the sport development transferred to Welsh GB, with support from FDSW; funding streams managed by GB rather than FDSW, etc)
  • To ensure that all policy shapes an inclusive strategic direction for the GB, and participant and coach pathways
  • Implementation of inclusive Operational Plan (Operational Plans should be representative of disabled and non-disabled participants and performers)
  • To create inclusive club information pack, that include a wide range of information available to Club Development and Performance Coaching clubs, and are available in a range of accessible formats
  • Attainment of the Intermediate stage of The Equality Standard for Sport
  • Be capable of operating inclusively with support as required from FDSW, but essentially independently
